Québec,
Canada
HuntMountain Resources
has acquired an option to earn a 100% interest
in two gold properties covering 6,500 acres within
Québec’s prolific Abitibi region of
northwestern Québec.
Lac à l’Eau
Jaune Project
The property
is located 20 miles SW of the Town of Chibougamau
and consists of 21 claims covering 2900 acres.
Lac à l’Eau Jaune lies
within the prominent Chibougamau District which
has reportedly produced over 33 million ounces
of gold from 28 mines. The property is neighbored
by several significant gold projects including
the Joe Mann Mine, Chevrier, Lac Meston, and Philibert
deposits. Unimproved roads run through most of
the claim block and the property is easily accessed
from the main highway to Chibougamau.
Malartic Surimau
Project
The Malartic Surimau Project lies within
the prolific Abitibi Gold Belt and is comprised
of 25 claims covering 3554 acres approximately
10 miles southwest of the Town of Malartic and
25 miles west of Val d’Or. Major precious metal exploration and
development programs in the area include the Canadian
Malartic (Osisko) and Goldex (Agnico-Eagle) projects.
Osisko recently announced the acquisition and future
exploration of an additional 241 claims staked
to the north and east of the Malartic Surimau property.
The Abitibi Gold Belt of western Québec
and eastern Ontario has produced nearly 150 million
ounces of gold and remains one of the world’s
richest mining regions.
Exploration
Initial exploration including geochemical
surface sampling and drill target delineation will
be aided by a proprietary artificial intelligence
resource detection technology (CARDS) developed
by Montreal-based Diagnos, Inc. HuntMountain will
earn a 100% interest in each property following
the completion of an initial drilling program consisting
of at least three holes. |
